Never turning it off

Leaving the iphone on or idle, stresses the battery, so you should turn off your phone periodically. Otherwise, your phone’s battery will die faster than it should.

Leaving the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on all the time

If you are not using the Wi-Fi or bluetooth, then it is better to disable them, instead of wasting the energy. It is good to keep both of them off and on whenever you need them.

Walking around with your iPhone in your hand

You must know that iphones are the huge target of thieves and now a days, this had become a big commodity in the black market. So, it’s actually dangerous to walk carelessly with your iPhone out, as around 40 percent of the robberies in cities involve mobile devices.

Not protecting yourself with a passcode

Passcode is a simple way to protect your privacy, and if you do not lock your iphone and it’s stolen, then your identity and personal information is completely open and available for the thief to grab.

Not cleaning it

Apple recommends to use “a soft, lint-free cloth” or the products that claim to use UV lights to sanitize iphone. You must clean your iphone daily.

Using a non-Apple charger

Off-brand chargers damage your iphone, even fake chargers have been reported to cause fires and explosions. For this, Apple has created a USB Power Adapter Takeback Program, in which it asks people to hand over their non-Apple chargers and get discount on a real Apple charger.

Keeping it plugged in overnight

Leaving your iPhone plugged in after it’s already fully charged can damage your battery over time, and it could start dying more quickly. You should unplug it after it’s fully charged, or use an outlet that shuts off via a timer.

Using it outside in extreme weather

Your iPhone cannot withstand under 32 degrees or above 95 degrees Fahrenheit. If you use it under such temperature, then either it drains the battery, or your phone might shut off temporarily. So, keep your iPhone either off in extreme weather or in your pocket.
